Behind the Scenes of Virginia Marijuana Dispensaries- Who Owns Them?

Here in Virginia, the Virginia Board of Pharmacy has granted four companies the ability to serve five Health Service Areas (HSAs). One of these five areas is currently vacant. The current dispensaries are as follows: Columbia Care, Dalits LLC dba Beyond/Hello, Green Leaf Medical of Virginia, LLC, Dharma Pharmaceuticals; which make up the Virginia Medical Cannabis Coalition.
Health Service Area I: Vacant
The Virginia Board of Pharmacy during a meeting on June 16th of this year voted to deny the MedMen request for reinspection extension from June 2021. They also rescinded the conditional approval issued to MedMen, and denied MedMen’s application for a pharmaceutical processor permit. As a result, The Virginia Board of Pharmacy has voted to grant authority to the Executive Director to initiate a Request for Application for this area to allow for the possibility of a new pharmaceutical processor.
Health Service Area II: Dalitso LLC dba Beyond/Hello
Dalitso LLC doing business as Beyond/Hello is dedicated to producing quality cannabis oil for patients suffering from debilitating medical conditions here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This dispensary has facilities in six separate states, one being Virginia; with two locations one in Manassas and the other in Sterling. Beyond/Hello is currently waiting on final approval of its permit to open its pharmaceutical process facility in Prince William County in the coming months.
